SERVER SOLUTION at Shivalik Nissan

Shivalik Nissan is one of the leading Dealers for all range of Nissan vehicles in Pune city with an impressive consistent performance record for the past several decades. Shivalik Nissan has DMS software in place which ensures that each member of the Shivalik Nissan family complies with the set quality norms. Shivalik Nissan is using Tally multiuser as well in accounting and auditing department. The Customer had installed Quick Heal Antivirus in all computers to ensure virus protection. Shivalik Nissan is having very good infrastructure with 70+ trained staff to satisfy their customers. All computers are connected with LAN as well as WiFi. They had installed physical firewall to protect their network against hacking and virus attack.

Business Challenge

The customer had increased number of computers over the period of nine years. So, they were facing problem of low speed in DMS software (Client Server Technology). One of the employee commented, “We are wasting our time by entering data in this software. We are here give good services to customer. Not to wait for software to respond.” Old server was having less computing capacity. So, it was delaying in response to all computers in LAN during pick hours. The customer purchased IBM 3300 M4 server to enhance the speed. The real challenge came here; DMS software was compatible with Windows 2003 Server only. Their hardware supplier tried to install Windows 2003 Server. But, new server was not allowing installing windows 2003 Server. They talked to IBM too. They also denied possibility of installation of Windows 2003 Server on this hardware. Customer was in great confusion. Hardware supplier was also in tension.

Solution

We gave solution to the customer in 6 hours. We installed windows 2003 server on new server. We implemented patches of operating system to enhance performance and stability. We implemented active directory and group policy to secure and organize the data. It optimized server resources to give optimum performance and stability for longer period.
